Ralp Cunningham

Ralph Cunningham became managing editor of International Tax Review, which covers cross-border corporate tax issues for multinational companies,  in November 2003.

Ralph is ultimately responsible for the editorial content of the magazine, which is published 10 times a year, its websites (www.internationaltaxreview.com, www.tpweek.com and www.taxdisputesweek.com) , supplements and other products, such as awards and the World Tax directory. He also hosts the successful series of web seminars the magazine has run since 2007.

 

 

Panelist: Francois Masquelier, Senior Vice President, Treasury, Corporate Finance and ERM, RTL Group

François is Head of Corporate Finance, Treasury and Enterprise (wide) Risk Management (ERM) at RTL Group, the leading European media company. He joined the company in November 1997. Before, he worked for Eridania Béghin-Say (Coordination Centre) and ABN AMRO bank. He is Doctor in Tax Law and has degree in Economy and Administration from the University and Business School of Liège and is graduated from the Solvay Business School (Brussels) as Executive Master in Management. He is certified ICIS (Internal Controls Institute Specialist).

François is Chairman of Association of Corporate Treasurers of Luxembourg (ATEL). He is also Honorary Chairman and Founder of European Association of Corporate Treasurers (EACT). He is member of the Financial Instrument Working Group (FIWG) created by the IAS Board in 2004. He has also been appointed as Specialist at The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) since November 2009.

François Masquelier is a regular contributor to different corporate finance and treasury magazines and newspapers (TMI, Treasury today, La Lettre du Trésorier, BFinance, Les Echos, GTNews, L’Echo de la Bourse, FEIB magazine, etc..). Since 2000, he has been appointed Editorial Director of the “Magazine du Trésorier”, quarterly publication dedicated to Treasury and Corporate Finance issues. François is member of the editorial board of JPMorgan Cash Management annual survey. He gives trainings and courses for Luxembourg School of Commerce and FEBELFIN Brussels.

Paul Chambers is a founding Partner of ATOZ, a high-end advisory service firm offering comprehensive solutions, encompassing the entire life cycle of an investment entity: from tax planning, design and implementation to compliance and exit planning, with industry focus on Private Equity, Real Estate, Multinational Corporations, Financial Institutions and Family Offices.

Paul specializes in providing national and international tax services to companies in the financial and industrial sector in Luxembourg and is especially known for his creative solutions required in complex structured financing cases. He has also developed sophisticated estate planning and succession solutions for high net worth individuals and their families.

Panelist: Alexander Rust, Assistant professeur en Droit Fiscal, Université du Luxembourg

Alexander Rust studied law with a specialization in tax law in Freiburg (Breisgau), Geneva and Munich. During his Referendariat (legal traineeship) he worked as an assistant judge and as a public prosecutor at the High Court of Munich, as a law clerk at the Ministry of Finance and as a tax advisor in private practice. In 2001 he was appointed assistant professor at the University of Munich, in 2008/2009 he worked as Acting Assistant Professor at New York University. Since 2010 he is the holder of the ATOZ Chair for European and International Taxation at the University of Luxembourg. His PhD thesis on the Compatibility of CFC legislation with tax treaty and EC-law won the European Academic Tax Thesis Award. Alexander Rust is a frequent speaker at international tax conferences.

January 2011. Previously she worked as the Manager for Strategy, Analysis &
Reporting, Front Office/Middle Office-Group Treasury for ArcelorMittal. She
has worked for ArcelorMittal since 2000.
